A client wanted to film and stream a live service from a remote church in-the North-East-of-England to the many guests in the local village hall as well as online to a greater global audience.

The solution was to provide a real-time video link approximately 2 miles from the church to the hall via our Teradek transmitters, The discreet use of small 4K camera’s allowed us to vision mix the service in the basement of the church to both the hall and the internet.

Welcome to the edge of the world. (pub 4 miles away).  This winter we’ve been remote-streaming with no main powers or venue internet from a remote cottage in the south west using our Teradek link pro to give us a 4G bonded internet connection with speeds up to 50 mb up/down

The mains power was provided by our PowerOak transformer rechargeable by solar panels and a trip to the pub. This mystical unit gives us 300w of 240v electricity allowing us to vision mix and stream with our LiveStream HD550 plus charge our phones, drone and camera batteries

Ahead of a newly commissioned 8-part Scandinavian documentary the Event Streaming team have just returned from a 10-day trial filming and live webcasting from a self-built raft drifting at 4mph down the Klarälven river. (“The clear river” in Swedish)

Sweden is simply stunning and once we built the raft and waved goodbye, we didn’t see a soul for days. Our job was to test the internet link from the raft and also fly drones and check for any issues with connectivity and streaming. (I’m pleased to say all the equipment work perfectly)

The kit included a Mavic drone and Teradek Link Pro which provided us with an internet speed of approx. 50mb up/down throughout the entire stretch.

The tough part was the 20 hours of Swedish daylight during this summer’s heatwave, we had nowhere to hide from the relentless sun and all suffered mild heatstroke and burns. Once the sun finally nudged the horizon it was the turn of the 1500 species of mosquitos that Sweden boasts to have their party, fortunately we were well warned and prepared and camped out in basically bee suits.

The river winds for approximately 290 miles through some of the remotest parts of Scandinavia, previously used as a logging route until as recent as the 1980s it’s now very much a wilderness magnet for adventurers’ – the sunsets, sunrises and night skies are like none we’ve witnessed before and are simply breath-taking.

Would we recommend rafting? maybe, probably, definitely but choose your crew wisely we didn’t talk for a week once we returned to hot baths, air-con and hotel comforts.

The  documentary team start filming next spring, we wish them well remote streaming in Sweden and look forward to seeing the final broadcast edit

This month Event Streaming .TV were privileged to film interview with Hollywood legend Gary Oldman in conversation with Michael Dobbs, an active member of the House of Lords and author of House of Cards, discussing Churchill’s legacy and playing the role of the famous war time leader.

Darkest Hour is an extraordinary film starring Gary Oldman, who won an Oscar for his performance, depicting the first days of Churchill as Prime Minister in May of 1940. To fully understand the prime minister and capture his spirit, Oldman did extensive research by reading biographies, studying film footage, visiting Churchill’s home at Blenheim Palace, and speaking to Churchill’s family members.

The International Churchill Society (ICS), founded in 1968 shortly after Churchill’s death, is the world’s preeminent member organisation dedicated to preserving the historic legacy of Sir Winston Churchill. WaveFX were commissioned to produce the video which will be shown at the 38^th International Churchill Conference, titled ‘Churchill and Freedom’ in October 2021. Each year the Symposium attracts over 1,000 delegates, representing the energy and dynamism of the global MND research community. It is the largest medical and scientific conference specific to MND and is the premier event in the research calendar.

Due to Covid this year’s event was held online, filmed and streamed from a purpose built studio in the associations Northampton headquarters.

The 3-day virtual symposium attracted a global audience in excess of 16,000 from over 57 countries. Interaction and engagement were paramount with the delegates being able to ask questions, review posters, network and vote.

Webcast production company Event Streaming .TV had worked with the association for over 15 years traveling the globe streaming past events from the USA, Australia and Europe.

This Year Event Streaming .TV provided all the equipment and crew to manage every aspects of the virtual symposium production from live filming, managing virtual presenters via zoom, vision mixing and encoding the stream to an embedded player.
